Teaching about a child`s Digital Footprint

Do you know what a Digital Footprint is? It is the path your child takes when they use a computer, log in to a website or even click to a link on another site. It’s an imprint of socail media. It’s a facebook picture, a tweet and a blog post. It is everything and anything on the web- and it can’t be erased.

Do you know how to teach your child about their digital footprint?

This summer, I am teaching a course for parents called #DigiFoot12. We will work with Classroom 2.0 and educators from all over to learn about “My Digital Footprint”. It is a miniMOOC based on learning by using networks to learn and connect with others. Through weekly guest speakers and activities, students, parents, parents and their children, teachers and administrators can learn about their digital footprint. More information on the course can be found at: http://minidigitalfootprint.wordpress.com/
